Sand & Shutter: Bridal Portraits Wedding Photography Workshop
March 6th, 2024, is a day etched in our memories for all the right reasons. Adjacent to the WPPI 2024 conference, we gathered at the awe-inspiring Boulder City Dry Lake Bed to create something truly magical: "Sand & Shutter – The Art of Bridal Portraits in Motion" wedding photography workshop.
Against a backdrop that looked like another world, we were able to capture the beauty, elegance, and grace of bridal portraits—while embracing the movement of the desert winds.
The unique setting of the dry lake bed, with its endless horizon and expansive, sun-kissed space, offered the perfect canvas for photographers to push creative boundaries. And with an incredible lineup of models, there was no shortage of inspiration.

A Day of Creativity and Collaboration
Photographers arrived on-site, fully prepared to dive into a day of shooting, creativity, and collaboration. With cameras at the ready and the models poised to bring each vision to life, the day began with excitement in the air.
The models for this shoot were nothing short of remarkable:
Lemmy
Rachel
Roxy
Jessica
Reanna
Each model embodied the elegance and ethereal nature of bridal portraits, while adding their own flair to the shots. Their ability to work with the natural elements of the desert—whether it was capturing flowing fabric in the wind or evoking emotion through movement—gave every photographer an opportunity to create something breathtaking during this wedding photography workshop.

Wedding Photography Workshop - The Flow of the Day
We started bright and early, with photographers arriving at 9:00 a.m., eager to get their cameras clicking. After a quick introduction and overview of the wedding photography workshop, it was time to dive in.
By 9:15 a.m., the desert scene came to life with a flurry of creativity, as models posed in the open expanse, allowing photographers to experiment with light, motion, and composition. The stunning venue and the talent of our models turned every click of the shutter into something extraordinary.
As the day progressed, photographers took advantage of multiple looks from the models, shooting through the golden light of the morning and capturing everything from soft, romantic portraits to bold, dramatic shots against the desert sky.
The shoot wrapped up at 12:00pm, everyone gathered for a group photo and some final words from our sponsors. It was a fulfilling day of collaboration, creativity, and artistic exploration.
