'River Rock Harvest': Our 1st Ever Wedding Photography Workshop
Our very first Curiosity Refresh Workshop took us out of the city limits to a stunning private residence along the winding riverbanks of Longview, Alberta. On Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, we hosted the River Rock Harvest Wedding Photography Workshop, featuring stylized autumn sets designed to inspire photographers on their creative journey.
The fall afternoon was nothing short of spectacular as we showcased various themes that allowed photographers to explore and experiment with different styles. From engagement shoots to intimate boudoir sessions, this workshop offered an unforgettable photography experience.
Exploring Autumn Engagement Sessions
We kicked off the day with an autumn engagement session. The models—Brad and Kim & then Brad & Shweta stole the show — each brought their warmth and love to life against the vibrant colors of the fall foliage. Photographers were given the opportunity to refine their skills in capturing candid moments and experimenting with portrait composition, all while taking advantage of the natural golden light.
Golden Hour Maternity Magic
As the sun drifted lower in the sky, our workshop transitioned into a maternity session, where Rory and Dre, glowing parents-to-be, posed gracefully in a golden-hued autumn setting. The serenity of the river flowing in the background made for a truly magical atmosphere. Photographers were guided through techniques of posing, lighting, and how to best capture the unique essence of maternity photography.
Fall Wedding Photography Workshop Glamour
The centerpiece of the day was an enchanting fall wedding shoot featuring our stunning models, Step and Kat. With autumn leaves swirling around and golden light filtering through the trees, this was an ideal session for photographers to learn the intricacies of wedding photography. The session focused on how to frame couples, handle posing in outdoor environments, and bring out the raw emotions of the bride and groom.
Sunset Boudoir Session
The day concluded with an intimate sunset boudoir session that perfectly encapsulated the romance of autumn. As the sky turned fiery with warm hues, photographers had the chance to capture steamy, sensual moments against a scenic riverside backdrop, offering them a chance to dive deeper into boudoir photography while learning to use natural light to their advantage.
The Journey Continues
The River Rock Harvest Wedding Photography Workshop marked our first venture into Central Alberta’s serene wedding venues, and it was the perfect place to host this inspiring experience. Curiosity Refresh is proud to have provided a setting where photographers could explore, learn, and grow their craft surrounded by nature's finest offerings.
